Spinoza - Why does Judaism object to him ?

I recently read "Betraying Spinoza" by Rebecca Newberger Goldstein.

I also did some additional reading on Spinoza's philosophy.

It seems to be in line with Kabala.

Does anyone understand why he was excommunicated, and where his teachings are inconsistent with judaism ?
