On donating and dedicating in someone's name
When someone dedicates a sefer, kuntres, bookshelf, etc. l'ilui nishmas, lizchus, or whatever, when is the inyan ruchni shebozeh accomplished? Is it accomplished as soon as the money is donated with that intention, or only once the name is attached? Is the only reason that it is necessary to attach the name mitzad Mitzvah lefarsem osei Mitzvah, or is the dedication itself effective only when the name is attached to the activity for which the donation was made? Of course, being mefarsem osei Mitzvah is a zechus in its own right, but my question is with regard to the chalois of the desired spiritual effect of donating the money.

I would assume (based on svoro) that whatever is accomplished, happens with the actual donation/printing etc. The "label" is a bonus.

Okay, but, also from sevoro, lich'oiroh there has to be at some point some kind of "hakdosho", i.e., declaration of intent to dedicate this tzedoko in the merit of so-and-so, if not in kesav, then at least in dibbur, or even in machshovoh.
