Do pomegranates really have 613 seeds?

My friend says that pomegranate has 613 cores as the number of commandments. Has anyone checked that?

in general the pomegranate is associated in many places in Torah to "aboundance of mitzvos" or like the Talmud says "full of mitzvos like a pomegranate",Since there are 613 mitzvos .some people said that
but the Talmud does not say this explicit
IOW,could be that a 'perfect pomegranate " to fulfill the expression literally should have 613,but not everyone has to fulfill the 613 mitzvos and every mitzvah has many ramifications as well
IOW,you can find pomegranates from 200 seeds until 1300 seeds

Then again, if observation and statistics tell you that a pomegranate has one number of seeds, while tradition tells you it has 613, what do you do?

On average, pomegranates have approximately six hundred. We are not medayek in matters of remez, and certainly a siman is a matter of remez, that we are not toleh halacha on.
