My story with questions.

Hello all
My name is Peter I live in a Australia, I have jewish parents althought I was never brought up on jewish traditions for example I never had a bar Mitzvah, is this a rare thing??
My family doesn't even speak hebrew although they can understand bits of it from their parents.
We are not a religious family either although Im interested to know whats out there, please give me any links to sites that might give me a vision of sorts towards it.
Dad didn't even wear a kippa on his wedding day, is that normal?
I try to talk to dad about his upbringing he claims he was a modern jew.. Im a jew and proud of it!
Sorry if this is the wrong website its the only one find
Thank you, sorry if I seem a bit draft im heading out to work.
Peter

www.chabad.org is a huge and most excellent resource. An absolute must.

www.theyeshiva.net you will hear great online lectures by a marvelous speaker.

Plus this site for interactive learning and a wealth of questions and answers that are archived. The search feature is a very helpful tool.

Congratulations on pursuing your interest into your precious Jewish heritage.
I wish you much success!

Im over in NSW, Northen beaches.

Thank you for those sites im looking forward to having a read.
Please feel free to tell me anything in this thread im thirsty to know all.

My parents sent me to a catholic school for year 7-10 I always felt left right of centre you know just out of place.
After year 10 I moved to a public school..
Im currently working and yeah just recently Ive thought alot about my heritage.

I've always seemed to get along with people of jewish heritage my best friend has a jewish dad and an Australian mother.
Is this normal, Ive been brought up in a life style not against just not forced in a way I wish it was forced.

Thank you all for posts please keep them comming!!
