Fear of the Evil Eye

I'm becoming more and more fearful in my old age of the Evil Eye. I know that Rabbi Nachman and other learned rebbes have said that only Shemayim controls your fate -- not some human being -- so am I wrong in wearing Hamsas, saying "keinehorah" all the time, and being fearful all the time that when someone argues or yells at me that I am being given the Evil Eye.

In shul, yesterday, I made a joke in which a holy person took the wrong way. All night I feared that in his anger at me, that I was in danger of getting the Evil Eye. How superstititous should a person be?

Am I being too superstitious? Tuviah
