Girls' high schools

in the same line as the seminaries thread, but abt high schools.

what is going on with lubav. high schools today? are the any high schools that are called 'good' across the board like chicago used to be? also who thinks what abt bais rivka, the giant, yr round camp in CH?

also any ideas abt how to make them better.

If the principals ever see this and figure out who I am, I bet they will have the shock of their lives, but, in retrosepct, I love/d Bais Rivkah HS...yeah its giant, yeah its spirited like a camp, but there is a lot of great learning, some really excellent teachers, and a great miz of girls...of course, like any big school, Social Darwinism rules, ie you are noticed if you let yourself be/are not shy..this does not mean you have to act out to get attention, it justs means, if you dont want to be a number, dont be as flat and dull as one...as a recent grad of BRHS, I can really say I enjoyed, truthfully not every moment, but I had some of the best expiriences, and biggest lessons of my life in thse halls (litteraly halls, if u knew me, ud know the signifgance, lol)

Although not officially, BR IS a mishichiste school! Just look at the big yechi sign proudly displayed at the entrance of the high school - or the yechi signs that grace many of the elementary classrooms!!
The speakers the high-school brings are mishichistes- inspiring the girls in the mishichte fashion- by no stretch of the imagination is BR not a mishichite school!

Although it is a political school- BCM Detroit is (was) a great high-school!! The prodcuts from detroit are sincere chassidishe girls!! (I think the school changed, and is much smaller now)

for a girl looking for a school like chicago used to be, i think tooronto would be a good choice. in past yearas girls did not like it very much but i heard that this year the girls love it and it is and always was a very chassidishe school with chassidishe atmosphere

I know several girls in Toronto, and you are -unfortunately- sorely mistaken on the Chassidishkeit level of the school. I would look into Morristown as a better choice, honestly.

every school has its ups & downs & i happento know that morrostown has also as you explain girls in toronto! if a girl would listen to everyone then they would have no where to go & i personially think chicago, detoit or beis rivka (if u dont mind the size) is gud but thats my opinion! remeber everyone's different! but the real truth is that there isnt any proper chasidush schools left!

im not saying that evrysingle girl is really chassidish bu ton a general scheme it is very chasidish and its the closest u r gonna get these days to what chicago used to be

what about B'nos menachem & Beis Chaya Mushka in CH? I know they havn't reached 12th grade but they sound pretty chasidush also I know B'nos Menachem have a dorm!

Cincinatti has a new H.S. start-up. I suggest asking Shluchos, and/or asking the schools themselves for references...
The high school has to fit the student...
My daughter had a wonderful experience with Mrs. Turin's school in Chicago..
Also, ask the principals of the girls' sems for their opinions of Lubavitcher Girls high schools...Good luck....
