Maybe you don't know what the light of chassidus is. are you referring to "vos malach michoel..."

there is a malach called Chazriel, who is usually the one present at modern-day farbrengens.

So what is light of chassidus?
And who is this Chazriel? (I know when you have to explain a joke, it is not a joke anymore, but anyway, explain, please).
And (just common sense) if you think it could have been mashpia, it means it indeed was (is) mashpia!

don't see why your attachments are moderated. thanks for the text. would be safe to say, that it seems to be illustrating a interfaith circumsicion of twins, in which they serve angle cake Agniel [switch to angel] and Ugiel, which means cake. Teumiel - Teumim is twins. Chazeriel is served for the non-jewish parts of the family.

The Eigth King, thank you for the refereences. It was a liitle difficult to read the photo, but I guess I got the idea. vbmenu_register("postmenu_109746", true);
So, Hiskashrus, anyway, you see, it says that Hashem will return Chazir. Which basically supports my point: you do your part (go to farbrengen), and Hashem will find what to do (as it says in Tanya), he may even find it appropriate to let you experience and sense proper love and awe in response to your avoida of sitting at boring farbrengen with disgusting obligation to drink into stupor.

a farbrengen is

A. One of the things stressed by the Rebbeim about a Farbrengen is merely the gathering of people in a way of Achdus, which already accomplishes much, Bruchniyus, and even B'gashmiyus it's a totaly different, more comfortable setting.

B. I have had the best experiences at Farbrengens, when the Mashpia was a real Chassidisher guy, I mean he was 70 years old, went through th Mesiras Nefesh times in Russia, and personafied Ahavas Yisroel and Ibergegebinkeit to the Rebbeim. He just had that effect on me that, "this is where I should be headed, and how do I get there".

With all due respect, the avoida is the same, the emphasis may be different, new things may be needed (and they are), but nothing is botul from the former times.

Rabbi SD Raichik had an amazing affect on people in Mivtzoyim, b/c of his tremendous Ahavas Yisroel.

And if you're looking for Shluchim who are old school in thought - not Dor Hashishi'nikes, yet not thinking that Dor Hashvi'i means to erase the past, rather add to the past teachings of Chassidus of the previous 6 generations - you can find many. My favourate example is Rabbi Shain from Tenafly NJ.

Point being that I personally was very taken by those kinds of Farbrengens.

Another kind of Farbrengen that have a strong effect on me are when the Farbrenger is a SHliach like R Shain V'kayotzeh Bozeh, that are focused on what we have to do, and the Rebbe's mission is real to them, not Gehacked a Tcheinik.

But as Hiskashrus said, and the Alter Rebbe says it in the Hakdomo to Tanya, everyone gets Nispoel from different things.

You see! Even virtual farbrengen like that works!
Anyway, teh Previous Rebbe writes in Likkutei Dibburim in the sense, that the customs that get accepted into jewish life and become as important as 613 mitzvos. In other words, you cannot say this thing is important davka now, therefore the other things are not very important.

Oh, BTW, regarding the second part - is there is something besides makif to a farbrengen. If I am not mistaken, pnimi depends entirely on th personal avoida.
