Challenge:

explaining to your hosts at a Chanuka party why there can't be any divrei Torah (but stories are all right), when nittel nacht doesn't mean anything to them and they learn Torah

If no one is learning Torah this night, how does the world continue to exist? Sefardim?

In Moslem countries there is no nittul. Litvishe don't hold of nittel. In EY many don't hold of nittul (see the Rebbe's letter on the topic).

I recently heard that some Chassidim (Belz?) hold Nittul on a different night entirely...

did not someone already point out there is a second nittel due to the other Greek O X-mas from the "old Calender"..... Skver also holds that one...they lived in a different section of Russia....

for all this is in Nite Gavriel on channukah and there is also a small blue book on Nittel on the market....

BTW, we got a guy in the plant who holds by the Andere...

There are two nittuls, the Polish (Dec 25) and the Russian. The date of the Russian is Jan 7, but Belz (based on a story that the belzer Rov asked a galich when nittul was) say it is Jan 6.
