Reshus to print ksovim of Raboiseinu Nesi'einu

In this letter the Rebbe refers to a letter of the Frierdiker Rebbe, who says that only Kehos have the reshus to print ksovim from Raboiseinu Nesi'einu, or those who have reshus from Kehos.

This is a letter from 5714. I was wondering if there was any horo'o of the Rebbe about nishtanu ho'itim or the like, because it seems that this is not followed. There are many editions of sforim that are melaket inyonim from Raboiseinu Nesi'einu, and especially from the Rebbe, that are not under Kehos. Am I to be melamed zechus that they all received reshus? Or that they didn't know about this horo'oh? Or what?

Also, does this horo'oh also apply to translations of divrei Raboiseinu Nesi'einu into other languages, that any translations need reshus? How about adaptations, which don't presume to be loshon hoRav?

Never heard of any change. Aderabo.
There may be differences between likutim and the like. kehos itself may have guidelines. In the old days, even things not by Kehos were usually asked of the Rebbe.
These days everyone does what they want anyway.

I know what people (apparently) do; I'm wondering what people should do. For example, the new edition of Kuntres HoAvodah, from Moznayim I believe--is that gezel?

I don't know what edition you are referring to, but if they printed it without permission from Kehos - that is wrong and not according to the Rebbe's wishes (though I don't know if it is halachik "gezel").
See LS v 26 p 325 (and 319).

Here's the book I was referring to.

Thanks for the mokor, but I don't see any implication there that seforim other than Tanya shouldn't be printed without reshus. I see that only from the letter in Igros Kodesh to which I linked in post #1.

Rabbi Schochet put his name in a book that was gezel !!!!

Maybe you just accused more than a few people and even though we in Chabad do not care about lashon hara.... you through your chutzpah d'klipah prevented the geulah?

Correct - a din meyuchad concerning sefer haTanya. Nu nu. My giving that reference was not a source for anything, just another data point. Understand how you wish.
Concerning the specific book - Gevurah is right, contact them.

No, your definition of "right" and "left" is skewed.

I never said that it was gezel; I'm just giving an example of something that I'm concerned might be gezel, that's all. As with any other number of sforim that don't have a Kehos shtempel or any indication that reshus from Kehos was received. But indeed, perhaps it wasn't proper to refer to a specific book, for which I apologise to all concerned. In any case, indeed--the way to clarify mattersis to contact the publisher.

Okay, I've now asked Kehos, and been told that this translation of Kuntres HoAvodah was done befeirush without reshus.
