Oh, in that sense, for sure it's no good, but how is it any different from kuching in anything else (music, clothes, books etc.)

true that's my point!
But maybe its a little different because non-jewish songs are much more destructive, keyadua (befrat, that there are also problems with kol isha).
Another thing, if bochurim go to the games themselves there are problems with tznius.........

In Chasidus it explains how everything in this world was created to serve Hashem. R' Zalman Jaffe relates in his book "My Encounter with the Rebbe" the following joke that he told the Rebbe at one of the Yom Tov meals in the Previous Rebbe's apartment: A Yid from the Big City once met a Shtetl Yid and they were comparing the diffirent living conditions. The City Yid asks his friend "how many Jews live in the shtetl"? "200", he answers. "And how many Goyim"? "15". Then the Shtetl one asks him back "how many yidden live by you"? "2000", comes the answer. "And how many Goyim"? "30,000". The shtetl Yid was shocked and asked how many shabbos goyim do you need?
A Bachur must use out Gashmiyus for his Shlichus Ruchnis which is Limud HaTorah. Just like A Shliach uses all tecnology and all Devarim Hamutarim for the succes of his Shlichus, the same by a Bachur. If you will use the Mashal of Shliach it should answer most questions (a koch. Or in an enviorment where it isn't accepted. See what the Rebbe derives from the Shochet
which was fired from his position because he started to wear galoshes. etc. ) In my opinion, it is The duty of the hanholos to see to it that Bochrim excersize on a steady basis, take them out on trips from time to time etc. And maybe then bochurim won't need to sleep so much. Remember what the rebbe writes in Hayom Yom (23 Sivan) that the decision of what's right or not depends on the Poal Yotzeh (the effect of a decision).

Let's step back for a moment and examine this critically through the eyes of Chasidus. Or more properly, define it that way. Is having a healthy body necessary? Definitely. Is clearing the mind at times necessary? I would say so - hisbonenus is not in a Sefer.

Then excersize is proper - in the proper form. Swimming, walking, hike, etc, in a way of a tzonua is great. Athletic equipment, sports games (!yup!), dressing in a specific way, is out. Similarly for "trips" - a hike can accomplish the same thing, or a walk. A trip to a specific place is not necessary.

In and of themselves: Encourage rooting for a particular team, or playing AGAINST another person. In their context: The dressing up to play and other grobkeit that can be associated with it.

Other than color war, I'm not aware of stupid concepts. Supposedly the Rebbe allowed Color War due to the Mishnayos Baal Peh competition involved in it. It was definitely not done without thought. And Bochurim are not children (supposedly!).

playing sports in yeshiva (in my opinion) is not a problem at all like was mentioned before where I am in yeshiva the guys that play dont know a thing about proffesional sports and play the game just to get out. and to put on a t-shirt or something to play, why should that be a problem you dont want to get youre white shirts all black so you change as long as you still wear tsitsis and no shorts vchulu no problem at all. montreal which doesnt allow sports doesnt add or take away from the yeshiva. like was mentioned before that guys go to motown just for sports montreal w/o sports still doesnt have the best name in the world this year as far as yeshivos are concerned. and the guys that play could be the more chasideshe guys in yeshiva so not so detrimental to being a good bochur

When the Yeshiva had to move from Newark and they were looking into different ideas of places to buy, a committee went into yechidus to ask the Rebbe about different proposals. The Rebbe negated some on the grounds that they did not have a swimming pool or a basketball court, etc.
[heard from Rabbi Mendel Herson in name of his father R' Moshe].

Doesent mean bochurim should go there just because of sports. The main thing is sitting and learning.

Still not an appropriate place for a Shliach. I think the bal habatim would understand if that was explained to them.
