Question Reaction?

One of my friends keeps saying, whenever someone (usually a teacher) tries to get her to do something, "I'm going to die tomorrow anyway, so what's the use?" I asked her what she was on about, and she answered "I didn't daven on yom Kippur, so I'm going to die tomorrow." How am I supposed to react to that?!?

Firstly, seek medical advice. Such an attitude is clearly unhealthy.

Now, As far as how you should react - Don't "react" at all. You have to give her a break, as there is no way for you to know what she may really be going through. In a caring, friendly, and non-confrontational way, give her a piece of your time to discuss what's wrong. She may only need an uplifting.

Just be a friend!
