a question about moshiach ....
what does it mean when it says on isaiah 52:14
According as many were appalled at thee--so marred was his visage unlike that of a man, and his form unlike that of the sons of men how does this apply to moshiach? is he supposed to look like a monster at some point??? can anyone answer this, cant find the answer |

There's no need to respond aggressively. Just answer the question. I imagine that it's a quite legit. question for someone coming from his background.

It doesn't make any difference whether the poster is Jewish. His question has apparently raised some eyebrows. That is fine. However, please be courteous to other posters - especially new posters.

As I understand it Soda, this passage most linearly speaks of a leprous man. Some say that it speaks of Israel as a whole while others say it speaks of Moshiach. In truth since the two are so interconnected, it may speak about both. In this sense, it's taken to speak of tremendous sufferings.
Then again it may speak about neither and may just be relevant to a distant time in the past. No one is really going to be able to tell you definitively (as in one meaning agreed upon by all). |
