Fear of the Evil Eye

I'm becoming more and more fearful in my old age of the Evil Eye. I know that Rabbi Nachman and other learned rebbes have said that only Shemayim controls your fate -- not some human being -- so am I wrong in wearing Hamsas, saying "keinehorah" all the time, and being fearful all the time that when someone argues or yells at me that I am being given the Evil Eye.

In shul, yesterday, I made a joke in which a holy person took the wrong way. All night I feared that in his anger at me, that I was in danger of getting the Evil Eye. How superstititous should a person be?

Am I being too superstitious? Tuviah

Did you apologize to the person? If not, perhaps you should and it would make you feel better.

With all due respect, your concerns strike me as abnormal. Please take this in the way in which it is given, honest advice from a friend: chill out. No anvils are going to fall on your head because your humor didn't pan out.
